Board of Directors

2013-2014 Board of Directors

Carol

President
Carol Prellberg

BS in Home Economics and Education, Rutgers University; past board member for Hudson County Community Action Program, Trinity Lutheran Church, Morris County Polio Network, and Will Rogers Homeowners Association.

Carol and her husband live in both Arizona and New Jersey, where they grew up and raised their daughter. She retired after teaching for twenty-one years in an inner-city school system, where she witnessed many children who never got to celebrate their birthdays because their famillies lived on the edge of poverty. She is also a polio survivor who spent many months in hospitals as a child, and she remembers what it was like to be there on her birthday. That’s why she’s so excited to be able to work with Birthdays Remembered and support its great mission.

Lea-Spall

Treasurer
Lea Spall

Real Estate Broker for twenty years and Owner of New Traditions Realty in Chandler.

Lea is married to Albert and has one daughter, three stepdaughters, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Willie is the newest addition to the Spall household-a rescued dog from the Humane Society. Lea was born and raised in Indiana and attended Indiana University. Raised by hard-working parents who never quite seemed to have enough money for extras, she was thrilled to get involved with Birthdays Remembered. The idea of being able to make a child’s birthday special was a cause that Lea felt drawn to. She has been involved with Birthdays Remembered since 2011.

Nan

Executive Director
Nan LaBrose

Federal Express, International Document Agent (Retired); 2008-2010 Director for the Spina Bifida Association of Arizona; Art and Psychology studies, College of DuPage, Illinois; FedEx LEAP Management Training; Certificates of Completion, Non-Profit Management and Marketing, Gilbert-Chandler Community College, Gilbert, AZ.

Nan is the founder of Birthdays Remembered. She has been married to her husband Tom for 32 years. Together they have five children. Their youngest daughter, Samantha, was born with Spina Bifida and spent many of her birthdays in the hospital. Nan has become acquainted with families unable to provide birthday gifts due to financial hardships in today’s economy. Because she feels no child should go without a birthday gift and no parent should feel the pain of not being able to give that gift, she was moved to start Birthdays Remembered.
