We’ve started a new fiscal year and this years focus will be on increasing our membership and our volunteers. Just a few hours of your time in these areas will help to make a birthday special for a child in Arizona who might not receive one because of their life situation.
Gifts. We are always looking for volunteers to help us with the most rewarding thing we do at Birthdays Remembered, purchasing, assembling and delivering gifts. We’ve made it simple by creating Gift Volunteer Folders and assigning Area Captains to assist you with questions you might have.
Event Planning. Every year on the first Saturday in March we host our Annual Spring Celebration Champagne Brunch. This is our main fundraiser and there are lots of fun opportunities to help. But, this is not our only event. We welcome volunteers to help represent us at awareness events, at benefit events, and to help sell Savings Passes for the “Macy’s Shop for a Cause” event in August
Fundraising. Of course we can’t give the give the gifts to children unless we have the funds to purchase the gifts. Donations of the books, bags, wrapping paper, and blank cards mean funds raised at events will go further towards purchasing gifts. If you have some great fundraising ideas please share them with us.
Marketing and Communication We need to let the world know about Birthdays Remembered and we need to do that utilizing the most up-to-date methods. If you can design a brochure, posters, or flyers, send emails, manage Facebook or other social media outlets we need your help.

We ask that you take a moment to examine where you can help Birthdays Remembered. Remember it only takes a few hours a month to make some child and their family smile

Working with Partners to make sure no child is missed

We at Birthdays Remembered are very pleased to have distributed close to 100 gifts since June 1, 2012, and we look forward to increasing that number during the next year.
It is extremely important to us that these gifts are NEVER delivered after a child’s birthday. Therefore, we are asking our partners to help us as we change our lead-time for referrals from three to five (5) days before the child’s birthday. We realize this is not always possible and we certainly don’t want to miss the opportunity to provide a gift. Increasing our lead time and providing us a list of referrals for a month at time, when possible, will help us to ensure that no child is missed.
We believe that literacy is critical to the future success of all children. So we enclose an age-appropriate book in every gift package. We realize that although a child’s primary language may be other than English, that child may be able to read and write English. In order to address this, we have added the question “Does the child read/speak English?” on the referral form. Answering this question will help us make the best choice with regards to the book.
As always, we thank you for your cooperation in our mission to be sure that no child in Arizona goes without a birthday gift and no parent feels the pain of not being able to give that gift

Thank you Chico’s!!!!

We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Chico’s store at the San Tan Village Mall for hosting birthday parties on April 23rd and again on April 25th. Besides learning some super ideas for taking off a few pounds just by the way we dress and accessorize we learned some new ways to tie scarves AND enjoyed birthday cake.

Chico’s offered attendees a 10% discount on purchased items and generously donated 10% of their proceeds from sales during the parties to Birthdays Remembered. Their donation will be used to purchase birthday gifts for children in Arizona who might not receive one because of their life situations.

We would like to send out a sincere thank you to Chico’s and all of you that supported us by purchasing.

Annual Meeting

Birthdays Remembered will be hosting their second annual meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 6:30 pm at the Will Rogers Equestrian Ranch clubhouse at 20485 E. Colt Dr. Queen Creek, AZ 85142. The entrance is located on Ocotillo Rd. between Hawes Rd. and the Ellsworth Loop Rd.

Attending the Annual Meeting is the best opportunity to get to know the present and new Board of Directors, review what we have accomplished in the past year and learn how you can help us in the areas of purchasing and delivering gifts. marketing, fundraising, technical support, recruiting partner agencies, and event planning.

We hope that you will join us and have a little birthday cake while you share with us your ideas for improving Birthdays Remembered so we can better serve Arizona’s children, their families, and our partner agencies. 2nd Annual Spring Celebration Champagne Brunch a Huge Success

Thanks to all of you who attended and supported our Annual Spring Celebration Brunch. Because of your generosity we will be able to provide gifts to more than 150 children in the next year!

The food was excellent the flowers and balloons set the spring celebration tone and the fashion show sponsored by Dillard’s gave us all a sneak preview of this year’s spring fashions. I highly suggest you take a trip over to Dillard’s and check them out. You’re sure to love the colors. And stop by the Cosmetics Counter. Dior representatives donated their time and makeup to the models.
Thank you Dillard’s and Dior.

Local business donated over 70 auction items. There are too many to name here but we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. To name a few of the items; there were hotel stays, golf outings, sports tickets, restaurant gift cards and certificates and beautiful baskets filled with home, baby, pet items, and even some wine.

If you missed out on this year’s event don’t worry. After all it is an “annual” event. We already have our eyes sent on March 1, 2014, and we are hard at work to make it even bigger and better than this year.

The Time is Now!!!

There are only two more days left to purchase your tickets for the Annual Spring Celebration Champagne Brunch. So the information does not get lost I’m just going to say upfront.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting lea@birthdaysremembered.com or by visiting the “Upcoming Events” page on the website.

And….TICKETS CAN NOT BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR.

So take a second to make sure you have your tickets for a day of fun, good food, a fashion show by Dillard’s, silent and penny social auctions of over 50 items to choose from, and some surprises.

We have set a goal of 124 gifts to be delivered by June 30, 2013, and so far we have delivered 88. Our gift requests monthly continue to almost double. We are certain to exceed our goal at this rate. BUT, we won’t be able to meet and exceed our goal without your help. We hope you can attend the Annual Spring Celebration Champagne Brunch, our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year, and help us stay on tract for meeting our goal.

It’s Almost Champagne Time!

Time is drawing near to purchase tickets for the Annal Spring Celebration Champagne Brunch. If you haven’t reserved your seat or purchased your tickets please email lea@birthdaysremembered.com ASAP. Tables are filling up! Tickets must be purchased by February 22, 2013.

Volunteers and Board members have been working hard to obtain some exciting auction items. How does sending your pets off to be pampered by a pet service while you sit back, read a book by a local author, and enjoy a nice red wine in your hand painted wine glass sound?. Have you been working too hard and need a “staycation” or a massage? There will be a number of hotels, casinos and massage services to choose from. If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids, there will be 4, Disneyland 1-Day Park Hopper Tickets to bid on. There is so much more you’ll just have to come see for yourself what strikes your fancy.

And did I mention the Fashion Show? After the brunch you’ll be treated to a fashion show presented by Dillard’s. Come get a preview of this year’s Spring trends.

All of this after you’ve enjoyed a scrumptious buffet and bottomless flute of champagne. But most importantly you’ll be having fun while helping us to continue purchasing birthday gifts for children who might not otherwise receive one. It’s a win/win for everyone.

2nd Annual Birthdays Remembered Spring Celebration & Fundraiser

A delicious champagne brunch, a silent auction and a penny social: what more could you ask in celebration of spring? Join us on Saturday, March 2 to help us raise money to provide birthday gifts for children and their families who need a little help to make a birthday a real celebration.

There will be a delicious brunch that includes a bottomless glass of champagne. We’ll also have a silent auction, a fashion show, and a penny social with a wide array of exciting items to bid on. We’re working on more surprises too, so stay tuned!

Where: San Tan Conference Center, 1800 S San Tan Village Parkway, Gilbert. (Behind the Doubletree Hotel)

When: Saturday, March 2, 2013 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Cost: $45.00 per ticket. Gather a group of friends or colleagues, and a table for ten is $400.00.

Deadline for tickets: February 22, 2013

Tickets can be purchased from any Birthdays Remembered Board member, or online.
